She fled to France eight years ago to get political asylum from Turkey and continue to fight in Tours where she lives now.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>This arrestation has taken place in the context of an international warrant by the Turkish government. Jülide is accused of supporting a ‘terrorist organisation’ in the words of the Turkish state.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>The fear now is for Jülide to be extracted to Turkey, where she will face torture and life-prison sentence.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>We have witnessed many examples of Turkish state commiting such crimes against political refugies, especially those who are in solidarity with Kurdish Liberation Movement\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Two days ago, she faced a trial in Tiranna. Since then, Albania is examinizing the extradition to Turkey, while her lawyer is appealing from this decision.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Jülide is a former student in the University of Boğaziçi, she's now attending a PhD in Tours in philosophy.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>As students unions and organisation that care about human-rights and political freedoms, we demand the immediate release of Jülide from Albanian custody, and all political prisonniers who stood up for the right of peoples to self-determination, antifascism and social values\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>As a refugee, France is required to protect every people that face political alienation all over the world due to international conventions (article 33 of the Geneva Conventions)\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>But we know that the european governments don't respect the rights of political refugees, such as, France with Gülhatun Kara, Sweden which has been deporting LGBTI activists like Bella Demhat, Italy with Maysoon Majidi, Hungary with Tobias and Maja.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>And as always, this situation makes us realize just how artificial international law is, and how easily it is forgotten when a state wishes to repress, extradite and facilitate its relations with other states, or to commit genocide, or to seek to commit genocide against an entire population, as is the case in Palestine, Lebanon, Rojava, Sudan, Myanmar, Nigeria and Artsakh.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>And we see from the NATO arrests, Turkish state using those arrests as nothing but as weapons to attack revolutionnaries.
